WHO WE ARE
FTA Food Solutions is a major supply-chain solutions based importer and distributor of food products for the Australian, New Zealand and export markets. We manage the entire supply chain to ensure the right product is delivered at the right time, every time. Beginning in 1993 and based in Altona Victoria, FTA was originally set up to supply wholesalers and smaller manufacturers with dried fruit & nuts, pulses and seeds.
From those humble beginnings, we have quickly transformed into a multinational importer, distributor and exporter, servicing over 1000 Customers with over 1300 product SKUs. Despite our size and national reach, we remain 100% family owned as members of the HSK Ward Group, with our roots tracing back six generations, or nearly 170 years in Australia.

Arrived in Melbourne & established a grain store on King Street
1863
Harold Seymour Kellam Ward
(HSK) is born in 1863. His legacy continues to this very day.
1880
Development and expansion
HSK Ward develops and expands the grain store into chaff, oats, potatoes and other essentials
1890
Marriage
HSK marries Ada and moves the premises to Flinders Lane
1910
New Beginnings
HSK Ward's business outgrows its premises, so he acquires a larger building on Spencer Street. By 1921, HSK restructures and officially forms HSK WARD Pty Ltd
1925
HSK retires
HSK retires and his three sons join the business
1967
New Purchase
HSK purchase J.F. McKenzie's, which has evolved into one of Australia's most iconic and trusted brands, McKenzie's Foods
1977
Move to Altona
Moved premises to Altona in Melbourne, VIC where we still operate today
1993
FTA is born
FTA commences trading, servicing customers in the B2B sector and bringing to life trusted foodservice and industrial brands like John Bull, Selesta & Silver Star
2020
